Overview: Engineering Design
The engineering design process involves a series of steps that lead to the development of a new product, system or the resolution of a problem. In this design challenge, DR.MED completed each step and documented our work as we conducted our fundamental research and developed a prototype that regarded the reolvement of pharmaceuticals entering and harming our environment.
For each new design challenge DR.MED complied with the Engineering Design Process that consists of the following steps:
(This is just a brief introduction in to the steps of the engineering design process. Moreover you may view each detailed step for a particular challenge by visiting the link for the different design in the bar menu Application of the Scientific Methods > Engineering Design Process > ______________________.)
STEP 1: Identify the Problem
STEP 2: Identify Criteria and Constraints
STEP 3: Brainstorm Possible Solutions
STEP 4: Generate Ideas
STEP 5: Explore Possibilities
STEP 6: Select an Approach
STEP 7: Build a Model or Prototype
STEP 8: Refine the Design
